STATEMENT BY RALPH REED ON THE CONFIRMATION OF JUSTICE AMY CONEY BARRETT TO THE SUPREME COURT

“The U.S. Senate has now confirmed Amy Coney Barrett as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, where she is certain to make an enormous contribution and bring her unique perspective to defending justice and the rule of law. A brilliant intellect, keen legal mind, gifted scholar, fair-minded jurist, and a woman of faith, Amy Coney Barrett is one of the most impressive Supreme Court nominees to appear before the Senate. We are grateful to President Donald Trump for nominating such an outstanding and eminently qualified woman. The shameful conduct of Democratic Senators in attacking this fine woman is exceeded only by their threat to pack the Supreme Court should they gain control of the U.S. Senate. We proudly supported her confirmation, and we congratulate Justice Barrett and her family on her confirmation.”
