Volunteers Have Visited Four Million Homes With 7 Days Left
Before the Presidential Election
DULUTH, Ga. – With seven days remaining before the November 3 election, the Faith & Freedom Coalition voter education program has reached nearly 80 million voters of faith in the most competitive states in the country, including 4,840,284 home visits.
Faith & Freedom Coalition’s home visit program is concentrated in 21 states, targeting mid-to-high propensity voters with a turnout score of 5 or above, as well as voters that data analytics have identified as evangelicals or Roman Catholics self-identifying as pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-family. Using a smartphone app that locates faith-based voters using mapping software and enhanced voter lists, a total of 1,500 volunteers and over 1,000 paid staff operating out of 39 field offices from California to Virginia are knocking on doors, passing out voter guides, hanging door hangers, and using customized scripts to interact with voters based on their specific issue burdens.
“The energy level for Christians across the country is at a fevered pitch. Early turnout numbers with a week to go before election day is at historic levels, and the faith vote is no exception. Our state and local leaders and volunteers are executing the largest Get-Out-The-Vote effort in modern-day history,” said Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “In the year of institutional shutdowns and social distancing, home visits featuring personal interaction with actual voters are proving, once again, to be the most effective element of our program. We’ve figured out how to be safe for our staff and volunteers and respectful of voters’ concerns, while still showing our commitment to educate people on where candidates stand on issues most important to Christian voters. With seven days to go, we will keep our foot on the gas and finish strong in reaching every voter we can and get them to the polls.”
“This is the first campaign I get to vote in, and working with Faith & Freedom Coalition has really made it special,” said Carley DeRoche, a Michigan State University student in East Lansing, MI. “I’ve gotten to help the effort to knock on 250,000 doors to educate Christian voters in my state about what is at stake in this election. While I am a new voter, many of the volunteers say they have never seen such energy and turnout from people that share our values.”
Jake Neidert, a student at Baylor University in Waco, TX said, “I have been interested in politics for a long time and this was the first real opportunity where I felt like my beliefs and values matched up with an organization that could make a difference. It’s been incredible to see our team of 25 college students reach our campus and community in a way that I didn’t think was possible. The response has been so overwhelmingly positive.”
